CYSTITIS--SUCCESS STORY
Recurrent cystitis -
stricture of the urethera. In my 20's and 30's I suffered chronic cystitis. It was caused
by a stricture of the opening to the urethera which meant that full emptying of the bladder did not always occur and therefore
a small amount of urine was left in the bladder and bacteria developed.
Several physicians I went to prescribed the usual sulphur medications but the root cause of
the problem was never diagnosed. Then a friend who was an MD urologist diagnosed the
stricture and recommended stretching the opening. I was nervous about the pain of that procedure but it was minimal
and immediately I noticed a much bigger flow of urine and the problem never occurred again.
My adult daughter has the same problem of chronic cystitis but she says that all doctors she
has spoken to do not recommend this procedure as it might lead to problems of incontinence in later life. I can only say that
for me it completely cured me of a very debilitating chronic problem and thirty years later I have no bad side effects.
